The Ice Rink The Shawnessy Ice Rink boasts 2 skating surfaces - one rink with boards used primarily for shinny hockey in the winter and great for roller blading and basketball in the spring and summer months; the other ice surface is ideal for those who wish to go for a leisure skate. Both ice surfaces are lit from dusk until 10:00 pm in the winter months. The rink shed houses a Zamboni which is used to keep the ice in great shape. Also, a sheltered area for putting on skates is provided. The rink is maintained wholly by community volunteers. For more information or to volunteer to help with ice maintenance please contact the volunteer coordinator.
