Security Alert for Shawnessy

January 22nd, 2009

One of most prevalent crimes in the Shawnessy community is car prowling.  Cars left on the street or driveway with portable music/video players (e.g. iPods), sports equipment, and wallets or purses, attract criminals.  Leaving garage door openers in your vehicle, especially if you leave it on the street and unlocked at night, can also be a serious problem.  Criminals often take these remotes and use them to perform break-ins at a later time.  Protect yourself by locking your vehicle, and either removing these items from the vehicle or keeping them out of view.
