Mayor and Alderman:
As President of the Shawnessy Community Association, I am writing to support the community of Shawnee-Evergreen and all other communities that may be looked at for the re-zoning of recreational land. I agree with all of the reasons that the SECA Board has put forward and believe that the impact of loosing the golf course to high density residential development will not just impact Shawnee-Evergreen community, but also the surrounding communities with more traffic congestion to communities that are already outraged at the poor development of our roadways in and out of the community. If this is allowed where will it stop? If this green space disappears, no green space in this city will be safe, no home buyer on a golf course or green space can rely on the value of their property. As a volunteer in my own community, I have now stepped up to volunteer in our neighboring community to help in what ever way I can. I do NOT support a rezoning application that sacrifices recreational land!
